About us

Gurmeet Singh, born on 11th Sep 1984 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India is an Advocate by profession, who has made a remarkable contribution to the legal community and practices mainly at Dehradun District Courts, Uttarakhand, India.

Many landmark Judgments and remarkable orders include a recent judgment where an ex part e judgment was overruled by the court of sessions. In this case, while appearing for the Husband, an appeal was filed before the court of sessions where an order was challenged where the wife had obtained an ex part e order while concealing various facts and circumstances. In another case a litigant had filed a case against all family members on the opposite side including sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father in law and the court had issued summons to all persons concerned. In this case, while acting immediately a criminal revision was filed challenging the summons issued, and the same was allowed by the court of sessions after hearing extensive arguments. A summoning order was set aside and the case was set aside at the very outset and initiated against our clients who were sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father in in-law.

In another instance, a litigant an FIR was wrongly initiated and registered against our client and it came to the fore as alleged by the accused that the police personnel had acted hand in glove with the complainant. The contempt petition was immediately filed and the same was successfully registered against both the investigating officer and the SO of the police station concerned by the court. The same shows that no person is above the law and in the end justice is granted to the people who stand up for their rights.

In another instant case regular bail was granted by the court of sessions in a case where we were successful in showing that the accused had no men's rea nor any case was made out against him and the FIR in itself was wrong and false. The same shows that if we contest the case rightly no harm can be attained to a person who is not wrong.

Divorce petitions are usually a time-consuming process and a mentally and physically exhaustive process for a few who don’t follow the correct path and fall into the wrong hands. In the instant case, a judgment was divorce was awarded in our favor within 1 month.

Usually in divorce or other litigations a litigant who isn’t residing in Dehradun, Uttarakhand is called to suffer unnecessarily to courts to attend court hearings. We, on the other hand, use the state-of-the-art mechanism as used in other states called “video conferencing” where a person who isn’t able to walk or isn’t available to come physically to the courts can appear in the court through VC as per the rules decided by the Nainital High Court and Hon’ble Supreme Court to minimize harassment and inconvenience to the parties.

His past achievements include the initiative to start up the service of summons of Hon'ble Court by way of E-mail in all District courts of Delhi (refer to "Randeep Kaur Vs Ayush Sibal" Judgement published as 2015 Lawsuit (Del) 71).

The right to a Speedy trial is a fundamental Right and the same was acknowledged and appreciated by the Hon'ble Delhi High Court of Delhi (refer to "Sunita Vs Yogender Saini" Judgement published as 2014 Lawsuit (Del) 5648).

In a case of appreciating the right of the petitioner that Bail is a Right and Jail is an Exception bail was granted to the petitioner in a matter u/s 302 etc. IPC. (refer to "Chander Singh Vs State" Judgement published as 2014 Lawsuit (Del) 5647).

In another matter, while being appointed and acting as an Amicus Curie of the Court an Appeal was allowed while holding in detail the legal sanctity of a Dying Declaration in a matter u/s 302 etc. IPC. (refer to "Kamalkant Vs State" Judgement published as 2016 Lawsuit (Del) 1939).

After observing the attempt to destroy the heritage sites of Chandni Chowk namely Piao and gurdwara sis ganj sahib, Gurmeet immediately approached the Hon'ble Delhi High Court and got the gurdwara sahib and Piao restored. The recent aid/relief to the illegal Destruction Piao of Gurdwara Sis Ganj, Delhi was also one of the latest achievements of Sh. Gurmeet Singh.

Proceeding forward in his career, after observing an online game and epidemic emerging by the name of Blue Whale, Gurmeet Singh felt the need to contain the situation for the public good and therefore in the interest of the public, he filed a PIL before the humble Delhi high court making Google, Facebook, Yahoo, commissioner of Delhi police a party and urged the hon'ble court to take action in the said matter. Thereafter taking cognizance of this matter, the humble Delhi High Court proceeded to issue notice to all the aforesaid and in addition also sought a reply from the Union of India on the steps taken and kept the matter for close monitoring of the case.

In a past turn of events, after observing that various anti-religion videos are going viral on YouTube and other social media esp. Sikh religion, he again came to the rescue of various victims and sought the intervention of the court against YouTube and the commissioner of Delhi police whereby prayed that Google/YouTube must be stopped from uploading and publishing any hate speeches and anti-religious videos and the same relief was also granted ex prate by the hon'ble court in November 2017. These are only a few to name amongst many others. with over 200 published judgments.
